Can you imagine "the best view of the bay" right in the center of town? Discover this café-bar with your friends and find out.

h-encino.jpgFirst you have to know how to get to Dabuyac: Walk on Calle Juárez (if you are coming from the Malecón, follow the signs to the Hotel Encino, two blocks past Los Arcos). Enter the hotel and go up to the fourth floor; feel free to take the elevator. The cafe is just to the right.

Dabuyac is an cafe-bar of altitude, and with its corner location, just as they proclaim, you can count on "the best view of the bay." Can you imagine looking out over the River Cuale, the city flowing into mountains and all the way to the other side of the sea? This is direct access to an afternoon close to heaven without having to be transported to the mountains, only four floors up.

Though the view is everything in this location, their menu does not fall far behind. They offer an extensive selection of food (baguettes, sandwiches, salads, desserts) and beverages from juices and coffees, all the way to the most elaborate cocktails with national and international liquors. In the realm of coffee, their specialties are frappés: cajeta (like caramel), Oreo, vanilla, Kalhúa, iced latte and banana. Forget the traditional ones and go for the banana or vanilla, you won’t be sorry. They also have lemonade, fresada and piñada (like lemonade, but with strawberries or pineapple), Clamato, soft drinks, and all types of coffees. If you choose the bar, you can order medium or large cocktails. Tequila, vodka, brandy, rum, cognac, whisky, gin and beer are listed at the end of the menu. For nibbling, French fries, nachos and popcorn are available.

The atmosphere is tranquil; with low music featuring an eclectic mix of pop, rock, bolero, all the way to flamenco. Dabuyac is little known, hidden as it is, with a majority of their clientele being locals and hotel guests. The unpretentious décor plays with the rustic Mexican style (the tables, with equipal chairs, are barrel lids). They have chess available, the place is cozy and offers good service; everything you may want, don’t you think? The food is not the best in Vallarta, but the portions are generous, offering a pretext to share.
