Banderas Bay hosts a wide variety of plant and animal species, thanks to the diverse ecosystems in the area. Banderas Bay is also a very important turtle nesting area with multiple nurseries hosted by private and government organizations. Eco-tourism is on the rise and Puerto Vallarta is one of the best places in Mexico to practice it.
